As we all know for the past few years, our lakes have not been seeing much rainfall, therefore they have practically been dry. With all the rain that we have been receiving, it has enabled the floodgates of Lake Lavon to open up, and release tons of water to the other lakes. The gates have not been opened in five years!!! The water is flowing from the east fork of the Trinity River over into Lake Ray Hubbard. “When water levels rise into flood pool, which is above normal conservation pool, USACE releases water as needed to protect lives and property” With all this rain we have been receiving, this would be a great time to pull out the fishing rods, and enjoy a day at your favorite lake.  Below are some of the current lake level percentages.

Lake Ray Hubbard  100%                             Eagle Mountain Lake  72.7%

Lake Lavon   100%                                       Lake Whitney   69.8%

Lake Granbury   77%                                    Possum Kingdom Lake  64.6%

Lake Worth  73.3%                                      Lake Bridgeport  38.4%

The lakes are continuing to fill up from all the recent rain.
